Die neuen Reaktivfarbstoffe eignen sich in hervorragender Weise zum Färben und/oder Bedrucken von hydroxylgruppenhaltigen und/oder amidgruppenhaltigen Fasermaterialien. Die Farbstoff mit Z = H sind Zwischenprodukte für die Herstellung der Reaktivfarbstoffe.

A divergent and selective synthesis of ortho- and para-quinones from phenols

We describe a divergent synthesis of substituted ortho- and para-quinones by catalytic aerobic oxygenation of phenols. Substituted quinones are omnipresent in chemistry and biology, but their synthesis frequently suffers from low efficiency and poor scope. Our methodology employs a catalytic aerobic di-functionalization of phenols to aryloxy-ortho-quinones. Regioselective substitution with an alcohol provides the alkoxy substituted ortho- or para-quinone, while hydrolysis affords the para-hydroxyquinone. These are mild and selective conditions for the synthesis of diversely substituted quinones from readily available phenol starting materials. (C) 2015 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

FeSO4 center dot 7H(2)O was proven to work as effective promoter for the direct arylation of benzoquinones with aryl boronic acids in the presence of K2S2O8. In the arylation, slow addition of iron solution was crucial to efficiently proceed with the reaction. Interestingly, the Fe-mediated arylation could be converted into a catalytic reaction by using hydroquinones, instead of benzoquinones, or addition of ascorbic acid. (C) 2012 Elsevier Ltd. The reaction of 2-methoxy-1,4-benzoquinone with methoxyphenolic derivative compounds obtained from wood tar constituents, assisted by palladium (II) acetate in acetic acid, allowed the preparation of five novel methoxyaryl-substituted 1,4-benzoquinones, as well as four structural isomer mixtures.
