  Several bicyclo[3.1.1] compounds have been prepared for possible uses in asymmetric synthesis, including 10-phenyl-alpha-pinene and the diastereomeric (1S,2S,5S)-10-phenylmyrtanols. The geometry and NRM properties of bicyclo[3.1.1] compounds have been investigated by using molecular mechanics and NMR coupling constants.
