  The two lower boiling diastereomers of (E)-3-methyl-5-(2,2,3-trimethylcyclopent-3-en-1-yl)pent-4-en-2-ol are novel odorants possessing a very intense creamy, woody, musk, sandalwood odor and are valuable ingredients for use in fragrance composi- tions for its musk and sandalwood-like qualities. The mixture of its diastereomers is more intense than any of the campholenic aldehyde derivatives that have been previously reported.

  (E)-3-甲基-5-(2,2,3-三甲基环戊-3-烯-1-基)戊-4-烯-2-醇的两种低沸点非对映异构体是一种新颖的气味剂，具有非常浓烈的奶油、木质、麝香和檀香的气味，因其麝香和檀香的特质而成为香水成分中的珍贵成分。其非对映异构体的混合物比以前报道过的任何樟脑烯醛衍生物的气味都要浓烈。
