  Application of the recently developed silica-adsorbed polyleucine catalysts to the enantioselective epoxidation of Two enones is reported. Treatment of these epoxides with trimethylaluminium in moist dichloromethane generates the alpha-hydroxy-beta-methylketones, with inversion of configuration.
