The first metalated porphyrazinediols 11 have been prepared from (L)-(+)-dimethyl tartrate via conversion into the corresponding dispoke or 2,3-dimethoxy-2,3-butanediyl protected 2,3-dihydroxymaleonitrile, Linstead macrocyclization, transmetalation, and deprotection.
