  Abstract The aerial parts of Bahia xylopoda afforded in addition to known compounds three new guaianolides: the acetonide of bahia II, 19,20-dihydro-19-methoxybahifolin and 20-deoxybahia II. Bahia pringlei gave some known compounds and the new 20-deoxybahia II. The structures of the new compounds were determined by spectroscopic methods and chemical transformations.
