Firsttotalsynthesis of monoterpene diglycosides, neohancosides A (1) and B (2) fromCynanchumhancockianum were achieved stereoselectively using fluoride as a glycosyl donor. The absolute configurations of 1 and 2 were determined by enzymatic degradation of synthetic intermediates
Abstract Neohancosides A (1) and B (2) are monoterpene diglycosides isolated fromCynanchumhancockianum , which is a Chinese folk medicine having antitumor activity. Firsttotalsynthesis of 1 and 2 , (3 R )-linaloyl and (3 R )-8-hydroxylinaloyl 3- O - β -d-xylopyranosyl-(1 → 6)-β-d-glucopyranosides were achieved stereoselectively using fluoride 12b as a glycosyl donor. The asymmetry of C-3 in 1 and
From the leaves of Breynia officinalis, collected on Okinawa Island, six terpenic glucosides and six phenolic glycosides were isolated. Two of the terpenic glucosides were found to be known, and they were identified as turpinionoside B and betulalbuside A. The structures of the remaining terpenic glucosides were elucidated to be megastigmane glucosides, named breyniaionosides A-D, using spectroscopic
From the water-soluble portion of the methanol extract of coriander (fruit of Coriandrum sativum L.), which has been used as a spice and medicine since antiquity, 33 compounds, including two new monoterpenoids, four new monoterpenoid glycosides, two new monoterpenoid glucoside sulfates and two new aromatic compound glycosides were obtained. Their structures, were clarified by spectral investigation.
