Syntheses of two oligosaccharides as methyl glycosides related to the repeatingunit of S. enteritidis capsular polysaccharide (CPS) are presented. The trisaccharide corresponds to the backbone of the CPS whereas the tetrasaccharide is a model for the repeatingunit which has a branched structure.
