Abstract The thermaldecomposition of 26 complexes of the type [Co(en) 2 X 2 ]Y and cis -[Co(en) 2 (amine)X]Y 2 (where X is Cl or Br; Y is Cl, Br, I, NCS or NCO; amine is aniline, pyridine, β-picoline or o -anisidine, and en is ethylenediamine) has been studied by means of a derivatograph. The correlation between the content of water of crystallization, cis-trans isomerism and nature of the external
