  [2-14CHZ, E)-γ-Ionylideneethanol and [2-14C]-(2Z, 4E)-γ-ionylideneacetic acid were converted by Cercospora cruenta to [2-14C]-(2Z, 4E))-1', 4'-dihydroxy-γ-ionylideneacetic acid and [2-14C]-(2Z, 4E)-4'-hydroxy-γ-ionylideneacetic acid, which are intermediates of ABA biosynthesis in C. cruenta.
