  The methanolyses of trans-α,α,α′,α′-tetramethyl-1,2-cyclopropanedimethanol and trans-2-isopropenyl-α,α-dimethylcyclopropanemethanol, using p-toluenesulphonic acid as catalyst, yielded methyl ethers and a ring-opened unsaturated ether. The reaction routes are discussed on the basis of the structures of the products and the results of VPC analysis.
