    We accomplished a divergent synthesis of sudachitin (2), a polymethoxyflavone isolated from citrus fruits, and six derivatives from acetophenone 9, which was an intermediate in our previous synthesis of nobiletin (1). Compound 2 enhanced glucose-induced insulin secretion in INS-1D cells, but was less potent than 1. Compared with 1, compound 2 and two derivatives were more potent inhibitors of cAMP-specific phosphodiesterase. (C) 2018 Published by Elsevier Ltd.

    Abstract Three flavone glycosides, sudachiins B, C and D, were isolated from the green peel of Citrus sudachi .     Abstract Six sesquiterpene lactones and two flavones were isolated and characterized from Artemisia klotzchiana. These included chrysartemin A, matricarin, desacetyl matricarin, ridentin, hanphyllin, jaceosidin, sudatichin and the new guaianolide chloroklotzchin, which is a halogenated lactone. The X-ray structure of hanphyllin is reported.

    A pharmaceutical composition containing sunflower extract comprises the extract of total flavonoids from leaves, heads or stems of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.), in which the content of total flavonoids is 50-90%. Preferably, the pharmaceutical composition comprises the extract of total terpenes and/or the extract of total organic acids. The pharmaceutical composition is used as an active ingredient in manufacture of foods, functional foods or medicaments for preventing or treating hypertension.
