Several lignoids with dibenzocyclooctadiene skeleton, such as schizandrins, domisins, schizantherins, stegans and kadsurins, have been reported to possess interesting biological activities (WAGNER, 1980: KUPCHAN, 1973) 1,2. Among them steganacin, isolated from Steganotaenia araliaceae Hochst., has been a synthetic target because of its antileukemic activity 2.
