Spot the difference! Different intramolecular rearrangements of vinylidenecyclopropanes containing a secondary alcohol chain were observed depending on whether the reaction was catalyzed by a gold(I) complex or a Brønsted acid (HOTf; OTf=trifluoromethanesulfonate).
