Herein we have developed a reversible hydrogen–deuteriumexchange reaction of nonactivated olefins. By using EtOCS2K as a mediator, the H/D exchange reaction was realized through repeated addition and elimination reactions, demonstrating reversible H/D exchange between ordinary olefins and deuterated olefins. Using the lowest cost D2O without precious metal catalysts and ligands, a broad spectrum of
Aerobic intramolecular aminothiocyanation of unactivated alkenes promoted by in situ generated iodine thiocyanate
Aerobic intramolecular aminothiocyanation of unactivatedalkenes has been developed by in situ generated iodine thiocyanate under open-flask conditions. This protocol provides a concise and efficient method for synthesizing SCN-containing pyrrolidine, piperidine and indoline derivatives with isolated yields of up to 87%. Furthermore, mixing iodine and sodium thiocyanate with oxygen afforded iodine

Abstract Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy has been used to investigate the IR spectra of the XNCO (X = Cl, Br, I, CN), the XSCN (X = Cl, Br, I) and the NCNCS vapor molecules from 4800 to 400 cm −1 . Vibrational frequencies have been determined for each normal mode of vibration in each molecule in this region.

Treatment of olefins with a mixture of iodine and mercury(II) thiocyanate in benzene or diethyl ether gives vic-iodo(isothiocyanato)alkanes and vic-iodo(thiocyanato)alkanes in a high yield, the former being predominant. Similar results were obtained by using silver(I) and thallium(I) thiocyanates, though both the yield and the selectivity are slightly lower. By use of potassium thiocyanate and copper(I)
Pure INCO, ISCN, and the hitherto unknown molecule ISeCN have been prepared in the HeI photoelectron spectrometer (PES) by the heterogeneous reactions of ICl gas with AgNCO, AgSCN at room temperature, and AgSeCN at -9 (+/- 1) degrees C, respectively. They were characterized on line by PES experiments and OVGF calculations. The well-matched results between the PES experiments and OVGF calculations not
