Heteroarene boronate esters constitute valuable intermediates in modern organic synthesis. Small push-pull molecules based on N,N-dibutylthiobarbituric electron-withdrawing unit and a combined electron donor have been designed and synthesized. Thiophene, N-methylpyrrole, and furan auxiliary donors were employed as central π-linkers accompanied by methoxy and amino mesomeric donors.
