The nickel(II) complexes of 2-substituted-1,3-diphenyl-1,3-propanedione and their 2,2′-bipyridine and 1,10-phenanthroline adducts have been prepared and characterized by microanalysis, conductance, magnetic and spectral measurements. The conductance data in nitromethane indicate that the compounds are non-electrolytes. The room temperature magnetic moments suggest that they are magnetically dilute compounds
