본 발명은 신규한 Schiff base를 포함하는 중금속 이온을 검출하기 위한 조성물 등에 관한 것으로, 상기 Schiff base를 이용한 화학센서는 육안으로도 검체에 중금속 함유 여부를 판별할 수 있어 편리하고, 검출하고자 하는 중금속 이온 이외의 금속 이온에 의한 영향을 적게 받으며, 금속 이온에 대한 검출 한계 (limit of detection, LOD)가 매우 낮으므로 선택적이고 정밀한 검출이 가능하다.
