Mushroom-derived glutamate natural product lycoperdic acid and its three stereoisomers were synthesized in 1.2–7.1% yield for total 11 steps from 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxan-5-one. This paper describes the second half of these synthetic works via a suitably protected amino acid intermediate with stereochemically defined complete carbon chain each. The neuronal activities are also reported.
