制备方法与用途

甲基柏木醚是一种重要的香原料，具有龙涎香、膏香气息，一般由柏木油为原料制得。利用杉木油作为合成甲基柏木醚的原料，首先从杉木油中分离得到3,6,8,8-四甲基八氢-1H-3a,7-亚甲基甘菊环-6-醇，并将其与苄基钠反应，生成3,6,8,8-四甲基八氢-1H-3a,7-亚甲基甘菊环-6-醇钠。随后，再进行甲基化反应，即经过成盐和甲基化反应生产甲基柏木醚（10-甲氧基-2,2,6,10-四甲基三环-[5,3,1,03,7]-十一烷）。

该物质广泛用于制备香料及定香剂。
