Microparticles based on ester derivatives of hyaluronan comprising a conjugate of all-trans retinoic acid and hyaluronan of the general formula I, wherein n is integer in the range of 1 to 5000 dimers, R4 is H+ or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, R3 is -H or all-trans retinoic acid residue of the formula II, where X is in the place of covalent bond of all-trans retinoic acid residue of the formula II, providing that at least one R3 of the conjugate is all-trans retinoic acid residue of the formula II and wherein the degree of substitution of all-trans retinoic acid residue of the formula II in the conjugate of hyaluronan is in the range from 0.1 to 8 %.
