  Compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen or hydroxy and R.sub.2 is hydrogen or fluorine are described. The compounds of formula I are useful as agents in the treatment of disease states characterized by metabolic calcium deficiencies.
