  This invention relates to a thiopyrano[2,3-b] indole derivative represented by general formula (I) (wherein R¹ and R² are the same or different from each other and each represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group and two broken lines represent each a single bond or one of them represents a double bond), and pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof. These compounds have an excellent 5-HT₃ antagonism.
