An improved polyester block copolymer composition having a rubber-like elasticity, particularly having excellent moldability, impact resistance, heat resistance and water resistance, which comprises a polyester block copolymer produced from a crystalline aromatic polyester and a lactone in melt-admixture with a polytetramethylene terephthalate and optionally further with at least one epoxy compound.
A vascular prosthesis is disclosed which excels in expansibility and allows satisfactory attachment thereto of cells and tissues. This vascular prosthesis is obtained by air-jet entangling a mass of yarns containing in at least a part thereof an elastic bulked yarn in order to get an entangled yarn furnished with fine crimps formed in fiber thereof, and fabricating a tubular fabric of the entangled fiber by one treatment selected from among weaving, knitting, and braiding treatments.
An artificial blood vessel is formed of a tubular body of composite fibers. The composite fibers are composed of a polyethylene terephthalate and a polyester elastic body which are materials familiar with the tissue of an organism. The tubular body is produced by weaving, knitting or assembling processing, or the combined processing thereof, of the composite fibers.

A composite article has a macroscopic combination of a crosslinked polyester composition and at least one other material. The polyesters may be polycondensation reaction products of a diol, a triol and a diacid. Preferably, these polyesters are biocompatible, bioabsorbable, or exhibit shape memory behaviour with at least one transition temperature of greater than about 30°C and less than about 100°C and most preferably exhibit each of these qualities. The compositions may be adapted for a wide variety of uses, including medical applications.
