A potassium carbonate promoted addition of 2-bromonitroalkanes to methylidenemalonic and methylidenecyanoacetic acid derivatives and N-benzylmaleimide leads to the functionalized nitrocyclopropanes. In the case of less active olefins, it is reasonable to use the phase-transfer catalyst Bu4NPF6 (10 mol.%), whereas in the case of N-benzylmaleimide, to carry out the process in the ionic liquid [bmim]BF4.
The acid-catalyzed cyclizations of unsaturated carbonyl compounds utilizing silica gel at high pressure

The ene-like cyclizations of a series of unsaturatedcarbonylcompounds have been studied using silica gel at high pressure (15 kbar) as a new catalytic system. This new method is general for forming 5- and 6-membered ring carbocycles. The mildness of this method was demonstrated by the successful cyclization of a vinyl cyciopropyl aldehyde.

defined Mn(I)-complex catalyzed acceptorless dehydrogenative coupling (ADC) reactions employing alcohols as the carbon source enabled the synthesis of multi-substituted pyrazoles. Symmetrical pyrazoles were made via the coupling of 1,3-diols with hydrazines. The unsymmetrically substituted pyrazoles were created using the ADC reaction of primary alcohols with hydrazones.
