The Pd(OAc)2/DABCO catalytic system was first found to be highly efficient for C–N cross-coupling reactions. With the aid of this transformation, a variety of new 1,4-dihydroquinoline derivatives were synthesized from o-halobenzaldehydes and various β-enaminones in good to excellent yields.
