  The gorgonian Junceella gemmacea from Pohnpei, Micronesia, yielded six novel diterpenes (3-8) of the briarane class. The structures and relative configurations of gemmacolides A - F (3-8) were assigned on the basis of extensive NMR studies and the predominant conformations of 6 and 8 were determined by interpretation of NOEDS experiments.
