[Solution] The present invention provides a method for producing an aminophenylpyrimidinyl alcohol derivative represented by general formula (3), wherein R is an alkoxymethyl group, comprising reducing a carbonyl group of a nitrophenyl pyrimidinyl ketone derivative represented by general formula (1), wherein X is a hydrogen atom or a halogen atom, and R is the same as described above, to produce a nitrophenylpyrimidinyl alcohol derivative represented by general formula (2), wherein X and R are the same as described above, and then reducing the alcohol derivative. The present invention also provides the above nitrophenylpyrimidinyl alcohol derivative represented by formula (2).
