  9-Amino-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroacridine (Tacrine), a cognitive enhancer, is an inhibitor of the enzyme acetylcholinesterase. The synthesis of no-carrier-added 7-[I-123]iodotacrine, was accomplished in four steps for potential use in mapping acetylcholinesterase.
