  A new ent-kaurane glycoside, subpubescensoside, was isolated from the leaves of Stevia subpubescens. Its structure was elucidated as 11 beta,16-oxo-ent-kauran-19-oic acid 19-0-[beta-D-glucopyranosyl(1 --> 2)]-[beta(-)D-glucopyranosyl(1 --> 3)]beta-D-glucopyranosyl ester on the basis of spectroscopic and chemical evidence.
