Two constitutional dynamic libraries (CDLs)-each containing two amines, two dialdehydes, and two metal salts-have been found to self-sort, generating two pairs of imine-based metallosupramolecular architectures (sharing no component) each with a [2 x 2] grid-like complex and a linear double helicate. These CDLs provided unique examples of a three-level self-sorting process, as only two imine-based ligand constituents, two metal complexes, and two architectures were selected during their assembly out of all the possible combinations of their initial components. The metallosupramolecular architectures assembled were characterized by NMR, mass spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallography.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein diagnostisches Mittel zum Nachweis esterolytischer und/oder proteolytischer Enzyme in Körperflüssigkeiten, das neben einem üblichen Esterase-und/oder Protease-Substrat und üblichen zusätzlichen Hilfsstoffen, ein oder mehrere Aktivatoren enthält. Als Aktivatoren sind insbesondere Pyridin- sowie Imidazol-Derivate, bestimmte Alkohole und Metallkomplexe geeignet.

Detecting red blood cells in a patient's urine by placing an aliquot of the urine in an automated analyzer sampling cup. The urine is transferred to a cuvette mounted within the automated analyzer and one or more reagent compositions in an aqueous medium is injected into the cuvette. The reagent contains a buffer to adjust pH, chemicals to remove substances in the urine that interfere with colorimetric photometry, a compound to lyse the red blood cells in the urine, a substrate to react with the hemoglobin, a color indicator and a surfactant to improve fluid mechanics. The sample is read against a standard using a pre-programmed monochromatically specified wavelength to determine the presence or absence of blood cells in the patient's urine.
