  An intermediate in the conversion of stearoylvelutinal to the antibiotic unsaturated dialdehyde isovelleral in injured fruit bodies of Lactarius vellereus is proposed. Further insight in the enzymatic conversions of sesquiterpenes in this species was obtained by feeding experiments with isovelleral labelled with H-2.
