    DNA G‐tetrad in addition to hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic contacts. We have also shown that attaching carbohydrates at the 5′‐end of a quadruplex telomeric sequence can alter its folding topology. These results suggest the possibility of modulating the folding of the G‐quadruplex by linking carbohydrates and have clear implications in molecular recognition and the design of new G‐quadruplex ligands

    Multivalent glycoconjugates were prepared using generation-4 PAMAM dendrimers, and their interaction with Langmuir monolayers containing GM3 was investigated. Excessive carbohydrate valency adversely affects the carbohydrate-carbohydrate interaction. The GM3 monolayer selectively interacts with lactose-functionalized dendrimers in the presence of calcium ions.

However, fluorous-based Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) has not been reported so far. In the current paper, fluorous interaction has been firstly utilized in QCM, and carbohydrate-protein interaction and carbohydrate-carbohydrate interaction have been detected afterward.
