Pepstatin A 对天冬氨酸蛋白酶(如蛋白质、组织蛋白酶D和E)表现出有效的抑制作用。在HIV感染的H9细胞中,pepstatin A 抑制部分细胞内HIV gag 蛋白质的合成,但对HIV感染的细胞没有显著毒性。此外,Pepstatin A 还通过阻断ERK信号并抑制NFATc1 的表达来抑制破骨细胞的增殖。

体内研究

Pepstatin(Pepstatin A)具有极低的毒性,小鼠、大鼠、兔子和狗经腹腔注射后的半数致死量分别为1090 mg/kg、875 mg/kg、820 mg/kg 和450 mg/kg,而口服后的半数致死量则超过2000 mg/kg。Pepstatin(0.5-50 mg/kg,口服)能够抑制链尾鼠的胃溃疡。
