    Catalytic synthesis of C-alkylimidazoles over platinum-alumina catalysts

    The synthesis of C-alkylimidazoles from 1,2-diamines and carboxylic acids over bifunctional, platinum-alumina catalysts has been studied. It has been shown that this method is effective for the synthesis of 2-alkyl and 2,4-dialkylimidazoles including imidazoles with long-chain alkyls. The effect of the reaction temperature, space velocity of the flow of the raw materials, and dilution by hydrogen on the yield of product has been examined for the example of the synthesis of 2-methylimidazole from ethylenediamine and acetic acid, and the stability of the catalyst in continuous reaction cycles with intermediate oxidative regeneration has been studied. The composition of the accompanying products has been established and a mechanism proposed for their formation.

    This invention describes new antifungal compounds that are aralkyl benzyl ethers of the formula (I): wherein: Ar represents aryl, imidazolil, 1,2,4-triazolyl, benzimidazolil; R 1 , R 2 , R 4 and R 5 are independently hydrogen, halogen, C 1-6 alkyl; R 3 represents halogen, C 1-6 alkyl or O—R′ where R′ represents hydrogen or lower alkyl; R 6 represents aryl, substituted aryl, trifluoromethyl, trichloromethyl or O—R′ where R′ represents hydrogen or lower alkyl; being the substituents of the aryl a halogen or a radical tetrazolyl; n and m represent independently an integer between 0 and 5; With the proviso that when Ar is imidazolil, R 3 is chlorine, R 6 is p-phenyl and R 1 , R 2 , R 4 and R 5 are hydrogen, n must be different from 2.     Disclosed is a method for producing a metal particle dispersion wherein a metal compound is reduced by using carbodihydrazide represented by the formula (1) below or a polybasic acid polyhydrazide represented by the formula (2) below (wherein R represents an n-valent polybasic acid residue) in a liquid medium. By reducing the metal compound in the presence of a compound having a function preventing discoloration of the metal, there can be obtained a metal particle dispersion having excellent discoloration preventing properties. Metal particles produced by such methods have a uniform particle diameter and are excellent in dispersion stability. By using a conductive resin composition or conductive ink containing a metal particle dispersion obtained by such production methods, there can be formed a conductive coating film, such as a conductive circuit or an electromagnetic layer, having good characteristics.
