  biosynthetic orgin of the dichloroimine carbon in the stylotellanes A and B, (1) and (2), is defined by specific incorporation of sodium [14C] cyanide. Sodium [14C] thiocyanate is also involved in their biosynthesis. A mechanistic scheme is presented for the formation of these bioactive metabolites.
