Abstract Mono(thio)substituted butadiene 3a, tetrakis(thio)substituted butadiene 4b, and bis(thio)substituted butadiene 10j were synthesized from 1,1,3,3,4,4-hexachloro butene and aromatic thiols in dimethylformamide at room temperature in the presence of triethylamine. Thiosubstitutedbutenyne compounds 5c, 6a, 7a,h, and 11i and butadiene compounds 3f,g, 4d, 8g, 9d, and 10i were synthesized from 1
New free-radical substitutions of vinyl and aryl chlorides by alkanes, alkenes, ethers and esters are described. The free-radical chains are rationalized on the basis of the known kinetics of the elementary steps involved.
Abstract Thiosubstitutedbutadiene and butenyne compounds were synthesized from the reactions of 1,1,3,3,4,4-hexachloro-1-butene or 1,1,2,4,4-pentachlorobuta-1,3-diene with different thiols in EtOH/H2O solution of NaOH. Tris(thio)substituted butadiene compound was treated with potassium tert-butoxide to obtain tris(thio)substituted butatrienyl halide compound. The novel sulfoxide compounds were synthesized

1-cyano-1-methylethyl radical to trichloroethylene and propagated by the transference of a chlorineatom from the dimeric radical to a molecule of the monomer. 3. The decomposition of dibenzoyl peroxide in trichloroethylene gives the same dimer as above, the structural identity being confirmed infrared spectrometrically.
