The hydrogenative ring-opening reactions of methyl- and propylcyclobutane were studied over Ni/SiO2 catalyst in wide temperature and hydrogen pressure ranges. Firstly, the temperature dependence of ring opening was determined and maximum curves were observed for both reactants.
