Kynurenic allyl ester reacts readily with [CpRu(NCCH3)3]PF6 in dry acetone to yield the RuIV allyl. The complex is an effective catalyst for the hydrolysis of methyl allyl carbonate in aqueoussolution in air yet decomposes rapidly in aerobic solutions of methanol.
