terpenes have been isolated from Thapsia villosa var. minor [2 n =22 (=2x)] and, mainly by spectroscopic methods, shown to be monoesters of the novel sesquiterpene alcohol (4 S ,5 S ,7 S ,8 S )-1(10)-guaiene-8,11-diol.
