    An object of the present invention is to provide a material used for producing a sheet for sealing a solar cell which is excellent in mechanical strength, solar cell sealing property and transparency if the material is not cross-linked. The thermoplastic resin composition of the present invention for sealing a solar cell is characterized by comprising: (A) 0 to 70 parts by weight of a propylene-based polymer having a melting point of 100° C. or higher and (B) 30 to 100 parts by weight of a propylene-based copolymer satisfying the following requisite (b); (b): MFR (230° C., load: 2.16 kg) falls in a range of 0.01 to 100 g/10 minutes, and at least one of the following requisites (b-1) and (b-2) is satisfied; (b-1): an rr fraction is 60% or more and (b-2): a structural unit derived from propylene is contained in an amount of 55 to 90 mole %, and a structural unit derived from α-olefin having 2 to 20 carbon atoms (excluding propylene) is contained in an amount of 10 to 45 mole %; and an intrinsic viscosity [η] (dL/g) measured in decalin at 135° C. and MFR described above satisfy a specific relational equation.

    A high molecular weight propylene polymer exhibiting high stereoregularity (isotactic) and high position selectivity can be effectively produced by polymerizing at least one monomer selected from propylene, α-olefins and polyenes in the presence of a catalyst for olefin polymerization comprising: (A) a bridged metallocene compound represented by the General Formula [I] given in claims (diphenylmethylene(3-tert-butyl-5-ethyl-cyclopentadienyl)(fluorenyl)zirconium dichloride, etc.); and (B) one or more compound(s) selected from (b-1) an organoaluminumoxy compound (b-2) a compound which reacts with the bridged metallocene compound (A) to form an ion pair, and (b-3) an organoaluminum compound.

    The propylene-based polymer composition of the present invention includes 41 to 95 parts by weight of a propylene-based polymer (A) having a Tm measured by DSC of not less than 120° C. and not more than 170° C., and 59 to 5 parts by weight (provided that the total of (A) and (B) is 100 parts by weight) of a propylene/ethylene/α-olefin copolymer (B) that contains 84.0 to 60.0 mol % of constitutional units derived from propylene, 15.0 to 30.0 mol % of constitutional units derived from ethylene, and 1.0 to 10.0 mol % of constitutional units derived from an α-olefin having 4 to 20 carbon atoms and has a B-value of not less than 0.9 and not more than 1.5. This polymer composition is excellent in transparency, low-temperature impact resistance, and mechanical properties (flexibility or rigidity, etc.) and also excellent in heat resistance.
