    The present invention provides a process for the oxidation of straight-chain, branched-chain or cyclic alkanes of 1-20 carbon atoms and benzene derivatives represented by the following formulas (1) - (2). The alcohols and ketones obtained by the oxidation of the alkanes mentioned above and those by the oxidation of the benzene derivatives mentioned above represented by the following formulas (3) - (6) are important as basic starting materials in producing various chemical products including resins, such as nylon and polyester, pharmaceuticals, agricultural chemicals, perfumes, dyes, etc.

    A porous biaxially oriented film comprising an ethylene/a-olefin copolymer wherein the copolymer is obtained by copolymerising an ethylene and an a-olefin having 4 to 8 carbon atoms, wherein the a-olefin is present in an amount of from 1.0 to 7.5 per 100 carbon atoms of the copolymer and the intrinsic viscosity [η] of the copolymer is from 3.5 to 10.0 dl/g ; wherein (i) the film has a microporous structure in which microfibrils of the ethylene/a-olefin copolymer are uniformly dispersed ; (ii) when cooled to room temperature after heat-treatment at 160°C in a constrained state the film loses its air permeating property due to the loss of porosity but still retains the structure which is based on the microfibrils ; (ii) at a temperature of not less than 170°C the film breaks up after having lost the gas permeating property.

    Provided is a resin composition including an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene-based resin, which can be molded by a method similar to that for general-purpose polyethylene without impairing excellent characteristics derived from the ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene-based resin. The resin composition of the present invention includes: an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene-based resin (A) having a viscosity-average molecular weight of 300,000 or more; and a condensed hydroxy fatty acid and/or an alcohol ester of the condensed hydroxy fatty acid (B). In one embodiment, the resin composition further includes a resin (C) other than the ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene-based resin (A), and the resin (C) is an olefin-based resin.

    A resin composition comprising: a polymer (1) whose enthalpy of fusion (ΔH) observed within a temperature range of 10°C or higher and lower than 60°C in differential scanning calorimetry is 30 J/g or more; and a low-molecular-weight compound (3) whose enthalpy of fusion (ΔH) observed within a temperature range of 0°C or higher and lower than 100°C in differential scanning calorimetry is 30 J/g or more and whose molecular weight is 2000 or lower, wherein a content of the low-molecular-weight compound (3) is 3 parts by weight or more and 1000 parts by weight or less, with respect to 100 parts by weight of the total amount of polymer components contained in the resin composition except the low-molecular-weight compound (3) which is a polymer.
