Arylation of amines by reaction with 1-fluoro-2,4-dinitrobenzene is catalyzed by micelles of cetrimonium bromide. This catalysis has been exploited to reduce the analysis time in the spectrophotometric determination of amines as their dinitrophenyl derivatives.
