  The reactivity of alpha- and beta-ionones under the supercritical conditions in a flow type reactor in the presence of Al2O3 at 200-230A degrees C was studied. alpha-Ionone was reduced to alpha-ionol, while beta-ionol was unstable already at 200A degrees C and underwent dehydration. The secondary reaction products were the corresponding megastigmatrienes.
