Abstract The kinetics of the formation of a bidentate mononuclear complex of nickel(II) with 2-methyl-8-hydroxyquinoline-5-sulphonic acid (2Me-HOx-5SO 3 H,H 2 L) were studied by the stopped-flow method, spectrophotometrically, in the pH range 3.0–6.0 over a temperature range, 20–35 °C.
