Provided is a heat-expandable removable acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive tape that has high normal-state adhesive power when bonded independently of whether the adherend has or does not have irregular surface and permits easy separation when the bonded region is separated and disassembled by lowering the adhesive power by heating, that permits easily separation-decomposition, even after long-term storage at high temperature.
The heat-expandable removable acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive tape or sheet according to the present invention is a heat-expandable removable acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive tape or sheet having a heat expanding agent-containing pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on or above at least one face of a bubble-bearing microparticle-containing viscoelastic material, characterized in that the heat expanding agent contains a heat-expandable microsphere having a shell-substance glass transition temperature of 92° C. or higher.

A continuous process for oligomers which do not contain, as polymerized units, carboxylic acid-containing monomers and their salts, including the steps of:
(1) forming a reaction mixture, substantially free of carboxylic acid-containing monomers and their salts, containing:
(i) 0.5 to 99.95% by weight of the reaction mixture of at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer; and
(ii) 0.05 to 25% by weight, based on the weight of the ethylenically unsaturated monomer, of at least one free-radical initiator; and
(2) continuously passing the reaction mixture through a heated zone wherein the reaction mixture is maintained at a temperature of at least 150°C and a pressure of at least 30 bars for from 0.1 seconds to 4 minutes to form terminally-unsaturated oligomers.
In addition, processes for forming oligomers of vinyl acetate and oligomers of vinyl alcohol are disclosed. Mixtures of fully saturated and terminally unsaturated oligomers are also disclosed.

The incorporation of carbon dioxide into nonactivated alkynes catalyzed by electrogenerated nickel-bipyridine complexes affords alpha,beta-unsaturated acids in moderate to good yields. The electrocarboxylation reaction was undertaken on a preparative scale in the presence of a sacrificial magnesium anode: the formation of acids from alkynes is stoichiometric with respect to the nickel complex if performed in a two-compartment cell but can be made catalytic in a single-compartment cell. An intermediate nickelacycle was isolated from the reaction with 4-octyne. The cleavage of this metallacycle by magnesium ions is the key step to explain catalysis.

The present invention provides a chemically amplified resist composition including a novel polymer, a photoacid generator, and a solvent: The chemically amplified resist can form a resist pattern that is excellent in adhesiveness with a low dependency to the substrate, transparency at the far ultraviolet wavelength range such as KrF Excimer laser or ArF Excimer laser, dry etch resistance, sensitivity, resolution, and developability. In addition, the polymer contains a maximum number of saturated aliphatic rings to enhance etching resistance, and additionally includes an alkoxyalkyl acrylate monomer introduced as a solution to the problem with the conventional polyacrylate resist in regard to edge roughness of the pattern, to form a uniform edge of the pattern because the alkylalcohol compound generated together with a formaldehyde and a carboxylate compound by a deprotection reaction of the alkoxyalkyl acrylate monomer with an acid acts as a solvent or an antifoaming agent in the pattern.
