  Uridine-5'-diphospho-beta -L-arabinofuranose, a possible donor of L-arabinofuranose residues in plants, was synthesized. This compound, in the presence of UDP-galactopyranose mutase, underwent interconversion with UDP-beta -L-arabinopyranose that is a likely precursor of L-arabinofuranose in vivo.
