    It is intended to provide a polymer which is scarcely eluted, has a high biocompatibility and is useful in a filter for selectively eliminating leucocytes. It is also intended to provide a filter for selectively eliminating leucocytes, a filtration apparatus for selectively eliminating leucocytes and a system for selectively eliminating leucocytes, each having the above-described polymer. The above objects can be achieved by providing a polymer which comprises from 8% by mol to 45% by mol of a unit originating in a polymerizable monomer having a polyalkylene oxide chain, from 30% by mol to 90% by mol of a unit originating in a polymerizable monomer having a hydrophobic group, and from 2% by mol to 50% by mol of a unit originating in polymerizable monomer having a hydroxyl group.

In Formula (I), X represents —SO—Z, —SO 2 —Z, —SO 2 NR 1 R 2 , —SO 3 R 1 , —CONR 1 R 2 or —CO 2 R 1 ; Z, R 1 and R 2 each independently represent an alkyl group, an aryl group, a heterocyclic group or the like; Y represents a monovalent substituent; M 1 represents a hydrogen atom, a metal element or the like; and a and b are integers from 0 to 16 and satisfy the relationship of 0≦a+b≦16. In Formula (II), G 1 to G 4 and Q 1 to Q 4 each independently represent a carbon atom or a nitrogen atom, and A 1 to A 4 each independently represent a group of atoms necessary for forming an aromatic ring or heterocycle with the respective G 1 to G 4 and Q 1 to Q 4 . Here, at least one ring among the four rings to be formed is a heterocycle. Each aromatic ring or heterocycle may have a substituent; M 2 represents a hydrogen atom, a metal element or the like.

    A process for cleaning a wafer having an uneven pattern at its surface. The process includes at least the steps of: cleaning the wafer with a cleaning liquid; substituting the cleaning liquid retained in recessed portions of the wafer with a water-repellent liquid chemical after cleaning; and drying the wafer, wherein the cleaning liquid contains 80 mass % or greater of a solvent having a boiling point of 55 to 200° C., and wherein the water-repellent liquid chemical supplied in the substitution step has a temperature of not lower than 40° C. and lower than a boiling point of the water-repellent liquid chemical thereby imparting water repellency at least to surfaces of the recessed portions.
