    A non-aqueous ink for a ball point pen is disclosed herein which is accompanied by the feature of the non-aqueous ink excellent in the so-called cap-off performance that a writing performance does not deteriorate even when the pen is allowed to stand, with a cap being removed, and the feature of an aqueous ink that a low writing pressure can be used and blobbing does not occur. This ink comprises an organic solvent having a vapor pressure of 0.2 mmHg (20°C) or less, a colorant and a coagulant and has a non-Newtonian viscosity index of 0.2 to 0.5 and a viscosity of 200 mPa·s (25°C, 50 rpm) or less. Furthermore, the ink is characterized by containing a autolyophobic vehicle in which a contact angle to the surface of a material such as stainless steel or bronze having a high surface free energy is in the range of 5 to 40°.

More specifically, it relates to an ink set comprising a water-based coloring ink and a water-based coating liquid having an acting of aggregating the water-based coloring ink, wherein a dynamic surface tension value at 25°C at a surface life of 100 ms of the water-based coating liquid is smaller than a dynamic surface tension value at 25°C at a surface life of 100 ms of the water-based coloring ink, a difference between the dynamic surface tension value at 25°C at a surface life of 100 ms of the water-based coating liquid and the dynamic surface tension value at 25°C at a surface life of 100 ms of the water-based coloring ink is 5 mN/m or more and 20 mN/m or less, and the dynamic surface tension value at 25°C at a surface life of 100 ms of the water-based coating liquid is within a range of 20 to 30 mN/m.

    A motor fuel additive composition comprises a mixture of: (a) from about 5 to about 50 weight percent, based upon the total weight of the additive, of a detergent component selected from the group consisting of (i) a reaction product of a substituted hydrocarbon and an amino compound, and (ii) a polybutylamine or polyisobutylamine; and (b) a fuel conditioner component comprising (i) from about 2 to about 50 weight percent, based upon the total weight of the additive, of a polar oxygenated hydrocarbon compound and (ii) from about 2 to about 50 weight percent, based upon the total weight of the additive, of an oxygenated compatibilizing agent. The fuel conditioner component may additionally comprise a hydrophilic separant, an aromatic hydrocarbon, or mixtures thereof. Additionally, in some cases the hydrophilic separant may also act as the compatibilizing agent. The additive may also additionally comprise a carrier oil or fluidizer. The additive is prepared by mixing together the detergent and fuel conditioner components, and is advantageous in that the detergent and fuel conditioner components synergistically interact to reduce both fuel intake system deposit formation and combustion chamber deposit formation, thereby inhibiting engine ORI.
