There are provided an ionic liquid having ether group(s) in which a copper(I) compound is included, a method for preparing the same, and a method for removing traces amounts of acetylene-based hydrocarbon compounds included in olefin by absorption or extraction using the same. When the disclosed solution is used, oxidation of Cu(I) to Cu(II) is prevented since CuX is stabilized by the ionic liquid. Thus, selective removal efficiency of acetylenic compounds is improved greatly while the removal performance is retained for a long period of time. Further, since the solution according to the present disclosure is applicable as an extractant as well as an absorbent, the associated operation is simple and apparatus cost can be decreased.

Various types of room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) containing 1,1-dicyano-1-acetylmethanide anion ($[C(CN)_2(COCH_3)]^-$, $[DCNAcC]^-$) were prepared and their physical and electrochemical properties were studied. All of these ILs exhibited high thermal stabilities over $200^\circ}C$ and relatively high ionic conductivities up to 29.4 $mS\;cm^-1}$ at $80^\circ}C$. Although the ionic conductivity of IL containing bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)-imide ($[Tf_2N]^-$) anion is higher than that of ILs bearing $[DCNAcC]^-$ anion, the specific capacitance of ILs bearing $[DCNAcC]^-$ anion are higher than that of IL containing $[Tf_2N]^-$ anion and showed high temperature dependence. Such favorable electrochemical properties of these ILs are likely to be attributed to the efficient dissociation of cation and anion at higher temperature and enhanced electrosorption of $[DCNAcC]^-$ anion at the electrode.

The purpose of this research was to investigate the stability and reactivity of 1-(pyrrolidin-1-yl)diazen-1-ium-1,2-diolate (PYRRO/NO) in dimethylformamide (DMF, as the reference solvent) and compare them to those obtained using different ionic liquids. The results of our experiments showed that PYRRO/NO is more stable (based on reactivity) in ionic liquid [EMIM][Ms] (with reaction yields up to 52%) than in DMF, that substitution products can be separated directly and quantitatively from the ionic liquid using a single flash-column separation, and that the ionic liquids can also be recovered and reused in a second iteration of the same reaction to achieve similar yields.
